Your Scoot History:
Had junk scooters in the
late 80's and always wanted to restore a Vespa. In 1996 Aaron
Congleton and I found my first project and started the process the
day we got it home. We (mostly Aaron) worked on everything from
paint to rebuilding the engine. Aaron became a master mechanic and
rebuilt that 125 CC motor that could pass newer 150cc bikes without
any trouble. I rode that scooter 250 miles on a freezing winter day
for the Bottle Rocket's first major run. It did great!
Fall of
1999 I purchased a very straight, running and complete VS5 from
California off of the internet. I plan to do a top to bottom restore
on it but have been too busy the last year to start on it.
In
spring of 2000 my friend Lance and I found a MINT 71 super with only
1200 miles on it. It was like new. Lance was gracious and said I
could have it.
